(Producers Notes) Less than one hour from the heart of the Las Vegas strip you can reach a completely different landscape from the hot desert floor in the valley. High up on Mt Charleston there is a little waterfall created by melting spring snow at an even higher elevation.
The climb is a moderately difficult one, a slow climb starts through the gravel wash up the side of the mountain. Once you arrive at the switchbacks this is when things get difficult. Higher elevation means less oxygen coupled with the increased demand for it, and exposure to the sun, make for an exhausting ascent. There is are several shady spots to stop and take a break to drink. Make sure you bring plenty of water, sun screen and watch out for dog poo.
