Yesterday legendary music performer Carlos Santana visited the Engelstad Campus of Las Vegas? most notable charitable organization – Opportunity Village. Following a sincere and touching tour from the facility with Opportunity Village professionals Ed Guthrie and Linda Smith, Santana was treated to a moving performance by Opportunity Village?s new performing arts group, The OVertones. The group carried out a unique medley of a number of Santana?s finest hits, that he was truly honored and humbled to see. The visit featured a donation in excess of 60 instruments from Santana and longtime associate Hermes Music, including acoustic guitars, tambourines and cowbells for Opportunity Village?s Fine and Performing Arts Program.
Santana is a large supporter of the Vegas community and it has become his tradition before all of his House of Blues runs to go to charitable organizations which make our city thrive, or recognize local groups or schools which are doing excellent achievements for the community.
