(Producers Notes) Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is located within the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, about 22 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. Springs from these mountains provided water for Paiute Indians, which later brought settlers to the area during the 1800’s. This 520 acre oasis was developed into a combination working ranch and luxury retreat by a string of owners, which included eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes.
